A Spiritual Beauty Secret of Mine

A beauty secret of mine is knowing the Lord.  Stress and trying to live up to this world’s standards will age us.  However, God’s love and concern for us will make us beautiful on the outside, and content on the inside.
...In this blog, I will be sharing with you what works for me, because it may help you too.  However, if you have a different belief in how you seek divine help, I encourage you to practice it.

For me, God is the One who has fully loved me like no human being ever can.  People will let you down because we are all sinful human beings.  “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God,” (Romans 3:23).  We naturally do what is wrong.  However, through Christ we can overcome.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life,” (1 John 3:16).  We do not need to sin and let our loved ones down.  We can be set free from sin, and reflect God’s love to others.  And the gift the Lord has for those who overcome in the name of His Son, is everlasting life.  Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him,” (1 Corinthians 2:9).

Later I will discuss why we are sinners.  That is, how we end up in such a condition.  However, right now I would like to focus on how the Lord has loved me, and how he made me beautiful.    I cried out to the Lord in my time of need, and I was taught to spend time with Him daily through pray, reading His Word (the Bible -the King James Version), and socializing with other believers.  Through my spending time with God, He loved me and blessed me.  I became beautiful inside and out.  His love is comforting and energizing.  He comforts your concerns and worries.  “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid,” (John 14:27).  When I did not stay connected to Him, or trust Him, I aged and was less attractive.  I was stressed out on the inside.  And so, I continually seek to go back to the comfort and joy I found in the Lord.  He hears our prays.  “What things soever y desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them,” (Mark 11:24).  We are to take Him at His Word.  But, continue to trust Him even though the answer to pray is not immediate!  Also, your prays may not be answered exactly how you ask, because God will give you the best because He loves you more than anyone can.  This is awesome and a great beauty secret.  Stress and trying to live up to this world’s standards will age us.  However, God’s love and concern for us will make us beautiful on the outside, and content on the inside.

"Those whose hearts are open to receive the support and blessing of God will walk in a holier atmosphere than that of earth and will have constant communion with heaven.  We need to have more distinct views of Jesus and a fuller comprehension of the value of eternal realities.  The beauty of holiness is to fill the hearts of God’s children; and that this may be accomplished, we should seek for divine disclosures of heavenly things,” (Steps to Christ, p. 100, by E. G. White).

The “holier atmosphere than that of earth,” talked about in the quote above, is probably what made me attractive when I spent time with the Lord and trusted Him.  The “beauty of holiness” was in my heart.  And so, today I seek to have that “beauty of holiness” in my heart so that He can make me beautiful.  When we confess out sins, He washes them away, and this makes us peaceful and beautiful.  And so I say, that a beauty secret of mine is knowing the Lord.

"But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ," (15:57)
